VMware Education Team Gives Back

Across the world, the spirit of gratitude is celebrated in many different ways throughout the year. In the U.S. this week, we will be gathering with friends and family for the Thanksgiving holiday to partake in this global tradition.

In that spirit, on November 14, our North America Education Team participated in a fun and rewarding service activity to give back to the community.

“One of the best things about working at VMware is the core value that we have for giving back to the community. Service learning events like this make a real difference for those less fortunate and help the team bond as well. All goodness as they say. I love being a VMware citizen philanthropist.” Shared Michael Lux, Senior Director of Education Services, Americas Sales.

Thirty-six of our team members gathered to decorate shoes and bags that were donated to two charities. The impact of their service will be felt globally and locally by the:

  • International organization Long Way Home – which use sustainable design and materials to construct self-sufficient schools that promote education
  • Austin organization Backpack Friends – which provides food for the entire weekend for at-risk school kids

From our VMware Education family to yours, we wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!
