Welcome to VMware Explore 2024 Las Vegas! We’re excited to share all of the Day 1 action in this recap-style post. Keep reading for a quick overview of today’s programming.

The Hub, the central community and networking space of VMware Explore, is officially open! This space welcomes all attendees to relax, recharge, network and learn. Come check out activations like the Broadcast Booth featuring theCUBE, the Spring Theater, Hands-on Labs and the VMware Rewards Space. The all-encompassing VMware Communities Space now includes VMUG and more! Join us throughout the week to connect with your peers and explore unique content across our communities.

In our Modern-Day Explorer Showcase, we heard from explorers, former Astronaut and STEM advocate Cady Coleman and Professor/Futurist Dr. Poppy Crum, who themselves have overcome challenges and seized the opportunity to chart the unknown and discover the possibilities exploration can bring.

Also of notable mention today was our partner presence, including the official partner lounge, which will be open Monday through Thursday on Level 2. We’ll be kicking things off with a Partner Welcome Reception this evening.

We invite everyone to kick start your Explore experience tonight at the Welcome Reception sponsored by Red Hat at The Expo. Discover our vast partner ecosystem, mix and mingle with fellow attendees in a relaxed atmosphere, pick up some new swag, and enjoy decadent appetizers and drinks on us. We’ll see you there from 5:00 – 7:00 PM in The Expo, Hall B.

Ready to get hacking? You’re invited to learn new skills, connect with others in the coding community, and enjoy a FREE after-hours evening of competition and socializing with other data-center automators. Sign up for the VMware {code} Hackathon, happening tonight from 7:00 – 11:00 PM in Ballroom H at the Venetian. While advanced sign up and event preparation is encouraged, drop-ins are also welcomed!
