5 Questions

1. Why is attending VMware Explore valuable to VMware customers?

We collectively innovate in a highly heterogenous world, and since its very beginning, VMware has been innovating ways to allow heterogenous workloads to realize greater resiliency, security, flexibility, and reduced costs. Today’s complex world of cloud and SaaS services, containers, and demands for AI and real-time decision making at the edge create new challenges for IT organizations and new opportunities for VMware to innovate. Explore represents the epicenter of innovation that takes on your most difficult challenges from operating across multiple clouds, to modernizing your edge sites, to making safe and pragmatic use of AI and ML. It’s a place to learn and challenge conventional thought and to bring back new approaches that will take your organization to new levels.

2. What innovations are you most looking forward to learning about this year?

I’m very excited about our innovations and partnerships in the AI/ML space as well as in security and edge computing. The VMware innovation engine has been churning out some differentiated technologies that are going to really help organizations to be more secure, agile and efficient from the cloud to the data center to the edge. I’m excited to see the many technology reveals and deep dives that will highlight our new innovations and demonstrate the use cases they will address today.

3. Can you give us a brief description of what your session/sessions will cover at VMware Explore?

A core part of my focus this year has been driving the strategy and execution of AI and ML. This centers on our goal to become the globally trusted provider of secure and ubiquitous infrastructure for generative AI, offering best-in-class performance, privacy, security, resiliency, cost, and an unrivaled ISV and IHV ecosystem of solutions. My sessions will focus on how we are helping organizations to realize these benefits while supporting their choice of technology providers and data privacy mandates. I expect that attendees will be extremely excited not just in how we are helping them to realize rapid value from AI and ML but also in new innovations that demonstrate VMware’s thought leadership.

4. What is something you think someone new to VMware Explore should know before going to the event?

VMware prides itself in solving problems that afford organizations more flexibility and choice. That extends beyond their data centers to how organizations optimize their cloud investments, ensure privacy and security of their critical apps and data, and how they modernize their edge sites. VMware is much more than the company that brought x86 virtualization to the mainstream over 20 years ago. It’s a company passionate about giving organizations the tools and services they need to ensure they can adapt to any change – expected or unexpected – at the speed of software. You’ll see that passion and the innovations it drives on full display at Explore.

5. What do you gain, as a speaker, from attending VMware Explore?

What I worry about most is what I’m not worrying about. Speaking at VMware Explore affords me the opportunity to share new ideas with our global technology community and receive actionable feedback. Our customers and partners have direct influence on our product strategy and are a fantastic source of insight into integration requirements and key use cases. Explore Sessions always include ample time for Q&A and discussion which I find equally valuable to both speakers and attendees.
