Here’s a sampling of what you can learn more about while attending VMware Explore 2022…
A Light in the Darknet: Stopping Cyberthreats with SASE [ID 1234]
Track: Cloud & Edge Infrastructure
Abstract:
Industries and governments worldwide are adopting multi-cloud, remote workforce, and SaaS-first strategies. However, digital growth has made organizations’ most critical assets more exposed to threats. Industry and government cannot afford to slow down, so digital transformation must also become cybersecurity transformation. Secure access service edge (SASE) combines networking and security to do just that. Organizations are no longer forced to compromise between connectivity and protecting their assets. With the right SASE solution, you can continue to accelerate your organization’s growth and defend against threats emerging from the darkest parts of the internet with no compromise. In this session, you will learn about recognizing threats across different verticals, industry security adoption for dealing with threats, and how VMware SASE can help.
One Multi-Cloud Grid to Run all Machine Learning Operations Stages [ID 1345]
Track: Vision & Innovation
Abstract:
Machine learning operations (MLOps) implement and formalize processes to develop, reuse and manage ML models. Every company trying to get value out of AI needs proper MLOps processes to take ML models from experimentation to production.
In this session, we’ll present and end-to-end architecture that puts together the pieces of the MLOps puzzle, including:
– An MLOps orchestration system executing every ML lifecycle phase, from data ingestion to model deployment
– How Kubernetes is ideal for running MLOps orchestrators on top of multi-cloud infrastructures
– How multi-cloud setups offer the best balance between model development cost and the model user experience
– How to integrate hardware accelerators for fast model training
– How to insert audit tools into MLOps processes to produce safe, robust and fair models
Oh Ship! Unpacking the Benefits of Drop Ship for a Hybrid Workforce [ID 1859]
Track: Hybrid Workforce
Abstract:
Want to know how you can achieve seamless, secure onboarding that balances employee experience, IT management, and security? Discover the benefits of modern management combined with drop-ship. With adaptive, flexible technology that eliminates IT headaches, new hires and existing employees can work from anywhere – whether at home or the office – and have a user experience that allows them to jump right in.
In this session, we will deep dive into everything you need to know about drop-ship, including online and offline provisioning. Come learn what it takes to begin your journey to a frictionless hybrid workplace.
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority Goes Digital and Sustainable! [ID 2060]
Track: Customer Experience & Success
Abstract:
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is a globally leading, innovative corporation that provides sustainable, efficient & reliable power-water services to over 1 million customers within Dubai. In 2015, we began a digital transformation of our assets and facilities to support the National Innovation Strategy. In collaboration with VMware Edge solutions, we moved to independently operate substations as a network of smart-grid-enabled power plants. We will be developing operations systems at each power station to enable transmission of joint performance data and enabling our staff to assess issues and make precise decisions. We have also created a more sustainable and secure environment by reducing carbon footprint. Attend this session to learn how we started our journey with VMware to establish a Digital World!
The Ninja Mentality: OCBC Bank and Multi-Cluster Container Workload [ID 2378]
Track: Security
Abstract:
OCBC Bank Singapore is a trailblazer for cutting-edge solutions being the first to deploy multi-cluster production workloads on Avi Multi-Cluster Kubernetes Operator (AMKO) and OpenShift. In this session, customers will share their stories and challenges of overcoming the lab-to-production chasm: from stitching together siloed products such as F5 load balancing outside the cluster and deploying HAProxy as the ingress to a single application services platform. You will hear how they:
-Implemented end-to-end health monitoring to the pod while automating GSLB across clusters
-Worked with Avi on an HA solution solving the challenges of syncing config from one cluster to another
-Productized AMKO Federation as a feature with a 6-8 week turnaround
Don’t miss this talk on Ninja mentality and DevOps disciplines with concrete real-world examples.
A Step-by-Step Demo to Set Up a Pre-Production Test Environment in 30 Minutes [ID 2238]
Track: Networking
Abstract:
This session is a practitioner’s dream. Deploy a pre-production environment from scratch to test your features in a contained manner in 30 minutes. Follow the step-by-step demo on how to set up. Launch from a VM jumpbox with a DNS preset that automatically deploys the controller, the service engine (data plane), a master Kubernetes cluster, and two worker nodes. Next, deploy the ingress controller using FQDN, TLS and apply web application firewall (WAF) to the ingress with full observability. Last but not least, automate the CI/CD pipeline using Ansible and Terraform.
