VMware Explore’s Around the Corner: Here’s How You Should Prepare

It’s nearly time to pack your bag and head down to the centre of the multi-cloud universe, aka VMware Explore 2022. But before you do that, there are a few things we’d recommend you do. So, without further ado, here’s your comprehensive list of all you need to prepare for our biggest event of the year.

Decide what you want to achieve from the event

Whether it’s meeting 10 new people within your sector, bouncing ideas off a tech influencer, learning about open-source skills or getting a deep understanding of app management – whatever your goal is, have it clear in your mind. Take a look at the VMware Explore Content Catalog and outline which sessions will help you meet these goals.  There will be a lot of sessions, so make sure to use the filter function – it’ll help you narrow down the options and locate the topics you’re looking for. Keep your eyes peeled for our schedule builder – coming soon, which is designed to help you plan your days at the event seamlessly.

Arrange your travel and accommodation

If you’re not a Barcelona local, you’re going to need these. Check out this list of nearby hotels and these United Airlines flight discounts for some of the best deals. If you’ve sorted all this already, we’d still recommend planning the route from your hotel to the event, so you don’t miss any sessions you plan to attend. The nearest Metro stations are Fira (L9) – an 8-minute walk from the event, or Foc (L10) – just a 6-minute walk away.

The event will be held at:

Fira Barcelona Gran Vía
Carrer del Foc 10
08038
Barcelona

It might sound obvious, but make sure you’ve booked the time off work, so you’re free to network and learn without work-related interruptions. And during the event, remember to put your out-of-office on too, so your colleagues know you won’t be responsive.

What should I pack?

Most importantly, pack comfortable shoes. You’re going to be moving around quite a bit, so comfort is key. If you’re coming from a different country, you’ll need your passport and in some cases a Visa for Spain, so make sure they’re in your bag! If you have them, pack some business cards to give to your new connections, as well as a notebook and a trusty pen to take notes with.

We can’t wait to welcome you through the doors on 7-10 November for an industry-wide gathering of minds. Keep your eyes peeled for our schedule builder, coming soon, and don’t forget to check out our jam-packed Content Catalog in the meantime.
