Mark is a theoretician and practitioner originally from Britain who currently resides in Norway. However, his occupation as an advisor on all things science and technology related requires him to frequently travel all around the world.
He obtained a first-class honors degree in Physics as well as a PhD in Theoretical Physics from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. Mark previously worked as a professor of Network and System Administration from Oslo University College and founder of CFEngine and ChiTek-i.
Mark is most known for his different publications regarding Configuration Management and Promise Theory. Mark received the SAGE 2003 Professional Contribution Award for his work in systems administration theory.
Mark’s work was used in the beginning stages of using Promise Theory to discuss business alignment, and later DevOps.
