To get the most out of the VMware Cloud Director Availability new features, Providers and their tenants need to get their appliances up-to-date with the newly released 4.3.
The process is just as simple as it always used to be, with several options for performing the upgrade steps – through the UI or command-line. All the necessary actions for Providers are described in the VMware Cloud Director Availability Upgrade Guides for Providers. There is also a tenant version of the document containing everything tenants need to do to upgrade their on-premises site.
If you are running VMware Cloud Director Availability 4.1 or 4.2, you can perform a direct upgrade to 4.3. For any older version, you need to follow this upgrade path:
Note: VMware Cloud Director Availability 3.5 has reached End of General Support (EOGS) on 14th November 2021. If you are running this version, please consider upgrading as soon as possible.
To ensure we have everything covered for both Providers and tenants, we updated the VMware Cloud Director Availability upgrade guides. There you can find all the prerequisites and detailed instructions for doing a harmless and successful upgrade.
Since there are two separate guides, you as a Provider can send the tenant upgrade guide to your tenants with all the necessary steps to make their on-premises sites compliant with your Cloud.
