This reference architecture illustrates a minimum viable product to start Horizon 7 on VMware Cloud™ on AWS. It also shows all the components required for a hybrid cloud environment utilizing Horizon Cloud Pod Architecture.
Horizon Cloud Pod Architecture is a federation of VMware Horizon environments that enables scalability across Horizon pods, data centers and physical sites. It utilizes a global entitlement layer that provides administrators with the ability to assign resources to users once and provide access to those resources, regardless of which federated Horizon pod the user connects to.
Horizon 7 on VMware Cloud on AWS and Horizon Cloud Pod Architecture provide organizations with unprecedented flexibility when it comes to deploying their virtual desktop and published applications environment. The hybrid cloud for virtual desktops and published applications allows organizations to easily provide seamless disaster recovery and burst capability for seasonal or temporary workforces, while providing proximity to applications that have been migrated to the cloud.
When utilizing Horizon 7 on VMware Cloud on AWS, organizations can also take advantage of native Amazon services like Amazon RDS for the Horizon and App Volumes databases, Amazon Route 53 for global load balancing, and Amazon Managed Active Directory Service for Active Directory as a Service.
