Beta customers can now discover and deploy Bitnami catalog solutions – including highly popular options such as WordPress, MongoDB and Canvas LMS. Following the integration, VMware Cloud Marketplace can provide customers with access to developer tools, databases and network & security solutions.
In May 2019, VMware acquired Bitnami (read the announcement here), the market leader in application packaging technology with an extensive catalog of 130+ click-to-deploy open-source solutions. VMware Cloud Marketplace™ Beta customers can now discover and deploy Bitnami catalog solutions through our service – including highly popular options such as WordPress, MongoDB and Canvas LMS.
With the Bitnami integration, VMware Cloud Marketplace™ provides customers with access to a rich set of workload solutions such as developer tools, databases and network & security solutions. These pre-approved solutions form the building blocks for a new application’s architecture, with which developers and architects can shorten the “builder’s journey” – an end-to-end process that tracks an application’s lifecycle from setting the initial requirements to going live. Developers can focus on creating a great application, while IT can breathe easy with trusted, compliant and production-ready technologies.
In the following video, we follow a customer’s journey as they discover and deploy a Bitnami solution through VMware Cloud Marketplace™. Watch below as the customer:
- Logs into the service
- Browses available solutions
- Searches for a particular solution (in this case, WordPress)
- Views solution’s relevant details (Screenshots, Descriptions, Pricing if applicable, Support, Resources)
- Deploys solution per customer’s specifications
- Views the solution in the customer’s content library
Apart from our published third-party solutions (more info on these can be found here) and Bitnami open-source solutions, VMware Cloud Marketplace™ also incorporates nearly a hundred solutions from VMware Solutions Exchange (VSX), a listings page of VMware-aligned third-party solutions. These VSX solutions on VMware Cloud Marketplace™ are all validated to work on VMware Cloud on AWS, and can be accessed directly through the VMware Cloud Marketplace™ solution catalog.
