There were few announcements more anticipated at re:Invent 2017 than VMware Cloud on AWS extending availability to the AWS East region. Enterprise computing is on the cusp of what theCube host John Furrier describes as a “software renaissance” – and VMware is poised to be a pivotal player in the software-defined future.
In this interview recorded at re:Invent 2017, VMware COO Sanjay Poonen talks to theCube about how VMware Cloud on AWS demonstrates how customers can have the best of both private and public cloud with a true hybrid cloud solution.
“We’re the king of the private cloud and they’re the king of the public cloud, when you can bring these two together you don’t have to make it a choice between one or the other,” says Sanjay.
As part of this, Sanjay talks about how VMware Cloud on AWS also brings VMware Cloud’s IT operations together with the AWS developer community to facilitate greater cloud functionality – especially for compliance and security.
