What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas—and that’s especially true for VMworld. After wrapping up the U.S. event in August, VMworld is set to touch down in Barcelona on November 5-8 for the European edition of the conference. And just like this summer’s Las Vegas-based program, VMworld Europe will feature a number of can’t-miss Cloud Foundation sessions. If you’re heading to the City of Counts for VMworld Europe 2018, be sure to pencil these four Cloud Foundation sessions into your calendar.
1. “Standardized, Automated and Adaptive: The Future of Private Cloud Is Here (John Gilmartin)” – Tuesday, Nov. 6, 11:00 a.m.
Despite the tremendous growth in the public cloud, over 70% of workloads continue to reside on premises today. Due to this, 67% of our customers foresee an ideal state where they rely on a mix of private and public cloud services. This multi-cloud end state requires that private and public clouds be based on a common infrastructure platform with the same ease of operations. John Gilmartin, GM&VP ISBU at VMware, will demonstrate how solutions like VMware Cloud Foundation and VMware Validated Designs deliver on this promise through standardized architectures, highly automated operations and adaptability to customer requirements.
2. “VMware Cloud Foundation: Future Innovations (Krish Sivakumar)” – Tuesday, Nov. 6, 17:00 p.m.
VMware Cloud Foundation automates deployment, operation, capacity provisioning and lifecycle management of a software-defined data center. In this session, Sr. Director of Product Management Krish Sivakumar will highlight the exciting new work being done using Cloud Foundation as a platform in the areas of workload domain capabilities, including flexibility, the ability to exploit hardware for new types of workloads and the benefits that come from doing so.
3. “VMware Cloud Foundation Architecture Deep Dive (Joshua Townsend)” – Wednesday, Nov. 7, 14:00 p.m. and Thursday, Nov. 8, 15:00 p.m.
Take a technical deep dive into VMware Cloud Foundation with Joshua Townsend, senior technical marketing architect – SDDC, VMware. This session will go under the hood and dig into the details of both the physical and logical design of Cloud Foundation, the latest features and capabilities and show how Cloud Foundation makes it easy for you to succeed in your data center modernization and hybrid cloud journey. Best of all, you’ve got two chances to take this deep dive into Cloud Foundation.
4. “Building the Ultimate Hybrid Cloud with VMware Cloud Foundation (Ninad Desai and Heath Johnson)” – Thursday, Nov. 8, 12:00 p.m.
Director of Product Management Ninad Desai and Sr. Technical Marketing Manager Heath Johnson will teach you how to build a hybrid cloud that is easy to consume, manage and highly secure. This session will also review a reference architecture for building a hybrid cloud with VMware Cloud Foundation and how you can connect to VMware Cloud on AWS. Lastly, you’ll get a deep dive into the tools that empower workload mobility, ease of management and automated deployment, such as VMware Hybrid Cloud Extension, Hybrid Linked Mode, vRealize Automation and NSX.
