With KubeCon + CloudNativeCon NA 2020 taking place November 17 – 20, it is an exciting time of year for the Kubernetes community to get together and discuss hard problems that a lot of organizations are trying to solve on their cloud native journey.
Keynotes and Sessions
VMware is proud to be a Diamond sponsor of KubeCon + CloudNativeCon NA 2020. We will be participating in dozens of sessions, keynotes, SIG workshops, and lightning talks this year – just to name a few:
- Stephen Augustus, OSS engineer at VMware and co-chair for the conference, will present multiple keynotes and will talk about the latest highlights of the Kubernetes project.
- Grant Shipley and Marissa Bosche will take the keynote stage and discuss how you can advance your Kubernetes knowledge.
- Xing Yang, tech lead on the Cloud Native Storage team at VMware, will deep dive into the Kubernetes SIG (Special Interest Group) Storage and the Kubernetes Data Protection Working Group (WG) that she co-chairs.
- Myles Gray and Steve Wong, co-chairs of the Kubernetes VMware User Group, will share best practices for running Kubernetes on VMware.
Check out this page to learn more about how we are showing up at the conference and how you can connect with open source project maintainers.
Demos
Exploring the expo hall and watching demos is one of my favorite ways to learn about technologies at a conference. Here is a list of demos you don’t want to miss at KubeCon:
- Kenny Coleman will deliver a technical demo at the Sponsor Theater of KubeCon, showing how to ramp up your Kubernetes cluster using eight open source projects – Cluster API, Kubeapps, Harbor, Octant, Antrea, Contour, Sonobuoy and Velero.
- The VMware virtual booth at KubeCon will showcase deeper-dive demos for some of our open source projects.
- Run Kubernetes at scale in a standardized and repeatable manner with VMware Cloud Foundation with Tanzu:
- Deploying Virtual Infrastructure Workload Domains: VMware Cloud Foundation with Tanzu
- Deploying an NSX-T Edge Cluster: VMware Cloud Foundation with Tanzu
- Enabling Kubernetes: VMware Cloud Foundation with Tanzu
- Creating a vSphere Namespace: VMware Cloud Foundation with Tanzu
- Deploying Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Clusters: VMware Cloud Foundation with Tanzu
- Deploying vSphere Pods: VMware Cloud Foundation with Tanzu
- Get started fast with Kubernetes with VMware vSphere with Tanzu:
- Provision and scale persistent storage at the speed of containers and unify the management of storage for traditional and modern apps with Cloud Native Storage in vSphere and vSAN:
I hope you have fun at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon NA 2020!
