We are continuously working to simplify and improve our customer experience for VMware Cloud on AWS, and that includes how you are billed and invoiced. We have enabled changes to make billing more predictable, transparent, and easier to manage.
Here are the key updates at a glance:
Quarterly Invoicing for VMware Cloud on AWS
To streamline the billing experience, all arrears charges related to VMware Cloud on AWS usage—including network usage and miscellaneous networking charges, Microsoft Service Provider License Agreement (SPLA) usage, and burst host consumption—will be invoiced quarterly rather than monthly. Invoices will align with calendar year quarters. The first quarterly invoice, covering April 2025 through June 2025, will be issued in July 2025. Each invoice will be accompanied by a comprehensive consumption report, giving you deeper visibility into your resource usage and associated costs.
Updated Billing for VMware Live Recovery Burst Hosts
For customers with VMware Live Recovery (VLR) subscriptions that allow dynamic burst capacity, billing will now automatically reflect host usage that exceeds your subscription. These changes are aimed at maintaining flexibility while ensuring billing clarity:
- Charges will be calculated based on the highest number of hosts used per day above the purchased subscriptions
- Usage will be aggregated over the quarter and reflected in the corresponding invoice
- You will receive an email alert every time your usage exceeds your VMC subscription, giving you a chance to review and adjust as needed
Purchase Order (PO) and Invoicing Guidance
To ensure a smooth billing process, please follow the following steps:
- Submit purchase orders (POs) either directly to Broadcom for VMware Cloud on AWS consumption, or if working with your Broadcom account team or authorized reseller, please ensure your PO numbers and “Bill to” information are accurately captured on future invoices.
For renewals, please note that maintaining the same sales channel (direct, partner, or reseller) may avoid delays or discrepancies, and so changing those channels requires more special attention and timing.
