You are invited to a special new bootcamp event in the Virtualizing Applications series of bootcamps at this year’s VMworld! The half-day Big Data and machine learning bootcamp will bring you up to speed on the design of a VMware setup for hosting your big data/machine learning systems, whether you intend to do so on the private or the public cloud. You will leave the workshop with a level of knowledge and confidence to design your own deployment in an optimal way.
More and more big data applications are being virtualized. In fact, on the public cloud, most big data applications are already virtualized. We will show the reasons for this. The big data/machine learning field is a space in which the adoption of virtualization is accelerating. This workshop will educate you on the key design principles and the best practices that VMware has uncovered in this area including deployment architectures, performance best practices and modern application design areas. We will also use a set of instructor-led demos to show different implementations.
The bootcamp will include technically detailed discussions on the topics such as the key big data platform architectures and how they fit with virtual machines, as well as existing reference architectures that are validated by the main vendors. We will go through a sizing exercise to build your confidence with the initial questions. Other topics such as emerging trends with HDFS and other storage types will be explored. We will cover the choices you have in how GPUs may be used with the new machine learning/deep learning application types on vSphere.
