Onsite Offerings
If attending VMworld 2016 Europe this year, please plan to spend time at the Social Media & Community area within the VMvillage this year. Here are some of the onsite offerings:

Social Channels & Communities
Follow all our VMworld Social Channels as we share VMworld updates and visual highlights.  Be sure to follow and browse the multiple VMware social media channels and VMTN communities for additional news, updates and engagement with the VMware community.

Social Media Stream
Watch our real-time social media stream, aggregating Twitter, Facebook and Instagram updates from our VMworld community. This social stream will also be displayed on big screens in the Hang Space in the VMvillage.

Video & Photos
LIVE video is a big part of the experience and we encourage all attendees to share their experiences with Facebook and Periscope LIVE video, or sharing Instagram, Vine or YouTube recordings. Photos are also a great way to share VMworld highlights across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Add the #vmworld hashtag to be included in our social media stream.

Mobile App
Download the VMworld 2016 Europe mobile app from the iOS and Android app stores.  Find “Social Media & Community” and take advantage of the in-app social stream and key resources. There is also a separate area for Attendee networking to discover and connect with other attendees by names, roles or interests/topics.

We look forward to seeing everyone this year at VMworld 2016 in Barcelona!

Party With The In Crowd On The Infield at the VMworld Party at AT&T Park!

Two years ago, we had an epic party at AT&T Park for VMworld attendees and back by popular demand, we’re returning once again to this iconic location.

att2013

This year, we’re having carnival rides, midway games, a laser light show and live performances from two of the hottest bands around. We also have a special activity this year right in the center of the park, so get ready to…roll.

So please join us on the baseball diamond Wednesday night, 7:30PM – 10:30PM, for networking, relaxing, and all the good old-fashioned fun you can handle. Our biggest bash of the year is your chance to let loose, make friends and celebrate VMworld 2015 in an amazing venue. We look forward to seeing you there!

Countdown to VMworld: Top 3 Sessions to Dive into Cloud-Native Apps

Businesses are delivering new applications to market in increasingly faster cycles, with next-generation applications being built on infrastructure assumed to be dynamic and elastic. For our second post in this five part series, we’re showcasing the top three sessions in the Cloud-Native Apps solution track, where attendees can learn how to stay agile by leveraging VMware infrastructure technologies. If you need suggestions for the hybrid cloud track, check out our post from last week.

As we move into the mobile-cloud era, we’re seeing tectonic shifts in the enterprise. The way applications are developed and operated, in addition to how they’re architected and deployed, have significantly changed.

To bridge this gap, our Cloud-Native Apps group helps developers and operations engineers quickly build and seamlessly manage next-generation applications, while supporting open standards for agility, interoperability and security.

If you’d like to learn more about Cloud-Native Apps at VMworld 2015, here are three sessions you can’t miss:

1.    Container orchestration with the SDDC – CNA4590

  • Containers are emerging as a critical tool for both developers and infrastructure admins, which might mean infrastructure no longer needs virtualization. This session will demonstrate the synergies of the SDDC and container technologies.

2.    Panel: Enterprise architecture for Cloud-Native Applications – CNA5379

  • Led by VMware CTO for EMEA Joe Baguley, VMware experts will discuss all the topics surrounding Cloud-Native Apps and walk through the vision that VMware has for next generation application development and hosting. The panel will share insight into what can be achieved with containerization, micro services and DevOps.

3.    Running Cloud-Native Apps on your existing infrastructure – CNA5479

  • Through practical experiences, various strategies will be explored to show how to support both traditional and Cloud Native Applications with a platform that can be integrated into existing IT infrastructures to deliver against both application architectures.
