Cormac Hogan, Director and Chief Technologist, VMware

My name is Cormac Hogan and I work in the HCI (HyperConverged Infrastructure) Business Unit at VMware. I joined VMware in 2005, and have previously held roles in VMware’s Technical Marketing & Technical Support organizations. I have written a number of storage related white papers and have given numerous presentations on vSphere storage best practices and features. I am also the co-author of the “Essential Virtual SAN” book published by VMware Press, and the “vSAN 6.7U1 Deep Dive” book.

 

 

John Gilmartin, GM & SVP, Hyperconverged Infrastructure Business Unit HCIBU, VMware

John Gilmartin is the General Manager & Vice President of the Integrated Systems Business Unit at VMware, Inc. He rejoined VMware in January 2013 as vice president of products, Storage and Availability. Prior to that, Gilmartin served as vice president of Marketing at Coraid. Before joining Coraid, he led the product marketing team for VMware’s virtualization platform, VMware vSphere. Gilmartin holds a B.S.E from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Purnima Padmanabhan, Vice President Product Management – Cloud Management Business Unit, VMware

Purnima has extensive experience in building and marketing innovative products in the fields of cloud infrastructure, security, and enterprise mobility. Most recently, Purnima was the CEO of Cavirin, a cloud security company, where she drove a turnaround and positioned the company for growth in a high velocity segment. Prior to that, Purnima served as the COO of MokaFive, a desktop virtualization company, where she was responsible for global product operations and as the Director of Product Management for BMC’s $500M Service Management business, where she drove portfolio planning, product definition, and M&A. She has also held various strategy, marketing and product roles at Marimba (acquired by BMC), Loudcloud (acquired by EDS/HP) and McKinsey. Purnima holds a MBA from Stanford University, a Master’s in Computer Engineering from University of Southern California and Bachelors in Computer Engineering and Classical Music.

Craig McLuckie, Vice President R&D, Cloud Native Apps, VMware

Craig is the VP of R&D for VMware’s Cloud Native Applications business unit. Craig arrived at VMware via the acquisition of Heptio, a company that he co-founded and led as CEO. Previously, Craig spent time in senior positions at Microsoft and Google; at the latter he made significant contributions to Google Compute Engine and Kubernetes. Craig also co-founded the Cloud Native Computing Foundation.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Eryn Muetzel, Director, Product Management, VMware

Eryn has been focused on the container ecosystem for the past four years, bringing open source infrastructure solutions to customers during her time at Heptio, Mesosphere, and VMware.  Joe Kinsella, Vice President and CTO, Products, CloudHealth, VMware

Joe Kinsella is the CTO and Founder of CloudHealth Technologies, which is now part of VMware. Joe was previously VP of engineering at the Amazon-backed cloud archiving company Sonian, where he was a pioneer of using multiple public clouds at scale. He was also a managing director at Dell, where he led global engineering teams delivering multiple SaaS products, and VP of Engineering at SilverBack Technologies (acquired by Dell), where he helped pioneer remote IT management software.

Tom Gillis is the SVP/GM of the Network and Security Business Unit at VMware. Prior to joining VMware, Tom Gillis was CEO of Bracket Computing, a company he founded in December 2011. Before starting Bracket, Gillis was VP/GM of the Security Technology Group at Cisco Systems and VP of Marketing and part of the founding team of IronPort Systems which was acquired by Cisco in 2007.

Tom held other roles at RSA including GM of the data security business.
