Welcome to the foodie edition of the VMworld Insider! This month, we go behind the scenes with our intrepid VMworld event team, as they test out and plan meals and snacks for our tens of thousands of attendees at VMworld 2018 US. And never fear—the same effort will go into VMworld 2018 Europe!
VMworld Europe attendees have long had an advantage over VMworld US attendees, because their hotels generally serve a lovely breakfast. In the spirit of parity, we’ve decided to bring some additional morning meal options to Las Vegas this year.
If you’re attending VMworld US, you can now look forward to egg stations, hot oatmeal, and an array of breakfast sandwiches to warm your stomach and start your day.
We’ll still have a continental option for those seeking lighter fare—and, of course, coffee and tea for that extra jump start. Set your alarms and get to the show floor early!
No matter how much you enjoy food, taking part in a formal VMworld tasting can put that to the test. Our team of eight VMworld 2018 US testers approached the table with empty bellies and full hearts to try 10 breakfast options, 6 lunch options, and 29 welcome reception options over the course of 6 hours.
The lunch menu spanned the globe, with choices of Mexican, Italian, American, Chinese, and Indian vegetarian items (plus a meatball station). And 16 dessert options were presented—would you believe that one of our tasters managed to sample them all? Favorite picks included the scrambled egg bowls, the Indian vegetarian buffet, and the lilikoi (passionfruit) and raspberry panna cotta.
If you have food restrictions, VMworld’s team can tailor menu selections just for you. During registration for both VMworld US and VMworld Europe, you’ll be asked if you have any special dietary needs so we can provide appropriate options in our lunch menu. You can indicate whether you prefer kosher, vegan, halal, or vegetarian meals. In the US, you can also select an Indian vegetarian option or a wheat-free option. For both events, you’ll be able to note any allergy-related restrictions to your diet.
We’ll order an appropriate amount of special meals (available on a first-come, first-served basis) based on all our registration responses, so please make sure you indicate your preferences when you register.
Registration for VMworld 2018 US and Europe is open, and early-bird pricing is in effect for a short time.
