So again, let’s dive into what these newly available features are below.
When we first introduced VMware Cloud Flex Storage at VMware Explore US 2022, our aim was to provide an enterprise-class cloud storage and data management solution. Since then, businesses of all sizes have embraced VMware Cloud Flex Storage to effortlessly scale storage without adding hosts, resulting in substantial cost savings. Now, with the enhancements we’re releasing today, we are significantly broadening the spectrum of supported workloads, including mission critical workloads. The key areas we’re focusing on are increasing the scalability of the service and strengthening its resiliency.

Increased Scalability: Expanded Cloud Storage Capacity with Elastic Growth
In this update, VMware Cloud Flex Storage now delivers petabyte-scale disaggregated storage for VMware Cloud on AWS. We’re doubling the usable capacity per datastore from 400TiB to 800TiB. Additionally, we’re now supporting up to 4 datastores per SDDC, allowing customers to harness up to 3.2 petabytes of storage in a single SDDC.
