VMware Closed Acquisition of Dell EMC Service Assurance Suite

In August, VMware announced a definitive agreement to acquire the technology and team of Dell EMC Service Assurance Suite – software spanning network health, performance monitoring, and root cause analysis for communications service providers (CSPs) and their customers – from Dell EMC. More detail in this post.

On September 4, 2018, VMware closed the acquisition of Dell EMC Service Assurance Suite (SAS) technology. The Dell EMC SAS team has joined VMware’s Telco Network Functions Virtualization Business Unit. VMware is targeting SKU availability in the Q4 timeframe, and in the meantime Dell EMC will continue to support VMware with sales transactions.

VMware Announces Intent to Acquire CloudHealth Technologies, a Global Platform for Multi-Cloud Operations

Today at VMworld 2018, VMware announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire CloudHealth Technologies. With over 3,000 global customers, CloudHealth Technologies delivers a cloud operations platform across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. The platform enables customers to help analyze and manage cloud cost, usage, security, and performance centrally for native public clouds.  Read more.

AWS and VMware Announce Amazon Relational Database Service on VMware

Today at VMworld 2018, Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS)  and VMware, announced Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) on VMware. Amazon RDS on VMware is a service that will make it easy for customers to set up, operate, and scale databases in VMware-based software-defined data centers and hybrid environments and to migrate them to AWS or VMware Cloud on AWS. Amazon RDS on VMware automates database management regardless of where the database is deployed, freeing up customers to focus on developing and tuning their applications. VMware Cloud on AWS Expands to Asia-Pacific, Delivers New Enterprise Capabilities

Today at VMworld 2018, VMware announced that VMware Cloud on AWS is now available in Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) Asia Pacific (Sydney) region. VMware also announced new capabilities that help organizations around the globe to rapidly migrate applications and data centers to a secure cloud service that meets enterprise application needs.
