Public cloud marketplaces are a critical component of our enterprise customers’ digital buying journey. Research shows 57% of infrastructure buyers indicate that marketplaces will be an important purchasing route for them in the next 2-3 years and 90% of customers with enterprise agreements with cloud providers indicate that they plan to purchase via hyperscaler marketplaces in the future. Research also shows that purchases through marketplaces on average close 30% faster and remove friction in the purchasing process.
AWS Marketplace is a curated digital catalog that customers can use to find, buy, deploy, and manage third-party software, data, and services to build solutions and run their businesses. In supporting customer transactions through AWS Marketplace, VMware is providing customers with flexibility and the choice to buy the way they want. Customers can take advantage of the ease of procurement that AWS Marketplace private offers provide — all while using their existing AWS Enterprise Discount Program commitments and additional benefits from AWS.
With this announcement partners can tap into these benefits as they provide customers VMware Cloud on AWS and other complementary VMware Cloud services to modernize their mission-critical enterprise apps on AWS. VMware enables partners to transact eligible VMware products and services by leveraging the AWS Consulting Partner Private Offer (CPPO) process. Partners can also offer their own services and value-added solutions driving faster time to value and greater profitability for customers. Leveraging the strategic consumption commitments customers have with AWS, which can be burned down through marketplace transactions, introduces new or expanded business opportunities for VMware partners.
When engaging with customers that have used AWS Marketplace in the past, or have a pre-existing commitment with AWS, procuring through AWS Marketplace can be a smart option. VMware also offers flexible purchasing and consumption options to deploy and manage VMware Cloud on AWS, and complimentary solutions such as VMware vRealize Cloud Management and VMware Tanzu. Put together, this represents an easy way for partners to accelerate customers’ move to a modern platform for modern applications.
