Every year VMware honors a select group of partners around the world with the VMware Partner of the Year Awards for producing truly exceptional results using our products. The awards fall into six different categories, each with a single global winner and three regional winners. The award increases each partner’s exposure and boosts their reputation, which can lead to increased business opportunities and revenue growth.
This year, VMware partner Wetcom won the VMware Partner of the Year Award for the Digital Transformation category at both the regional and global level. They earned this distinction for delivering superior value throughout the entire customer journey by providing solutions that successfully met desired customer outcomes. The award reinforces Wetcom’s strategic relationship with VMware as a Principal Partner, the highest partner tier a partner can achieve.
Diego Quintana and Nicolás Solop founded Wetcom in 2006 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with the goal of designing and deploying cloud computing solutions with unmatched levels of quality and agility. They provide professional services to enterprise-level customers across Latin America, North America, and Europe in the retail, banking, and healthcare sectors, among others. Their areas of expertise include not only virtualization but also datacenter storage, automation, backup and disaster recovery, and more.
Invested in Developing VMware Expertise
Wetcom heavily invested in earning a host of VMware Master Services Competencies (MSCs), which recognize our most capable partners for their delivery expertise and experience within a specific VMware solution area. Each MSC requires partners to prove an advanced level of proficiency that must be validated by their customers as well as by VMware. Wetcom has earned four of the six MSCs—Data Center Virtualization, Cloud Management and Automation, VMware Cloud on AWS, and Network Virtualization—assuring their customers that they are one of VMware’s most capable services partners.
Wetcom has met the rigorous requirements to become a VMware Principal Partner and has consequently earned additional benefits. The three areas of this partnership include Datacenter Virtualization, Cloud Management and Automation, and Network and Security. Like all our Principal Partners, Wetcom has invested thousands of hours and substantial amounts of funding to excel at their practice.
“It is a great honor for Wetcom to have received this recognition from VMware and to know that an Argentine company can stand out and achieve an award at the regional and global level,” says Wetcom CEO Diego Quintana. “It allows us to continue innovating and evolving to be increasingly capable of being able to respond successfully to the needs of our clients.”
Wetcom’s customers know that digital transformation is ultimately a business project that transcends technology. “It implies rethinking absolutely everything to accelerate the growth of the company and to differentiate itself from the competition,” Quintana says. ”For the IT area to ride the wave of transformation, it needs to focus on technology and business projects. How do you do it? With the appropriate technological solutions, with an available and secure platform, and of course with the appropriate technological partner, Wetcom, that frees you from day to day to be able to face this transformation.”
Leading Clients Through Digital Transformation
Some recent successes are worth highlighting. A large South American bank wanted to improve the availability of its infrastructure to ensure banking customers had an exceptional experience. Wetcom engineers jumped in and created a new and even more highly available infrastructure and fully modernized the bank’s IT services. The two companies signed an Enterprise License Agreement (ELA) that included VMware vCloud Suite Advanced solutions plus VMware NSX and VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM). The bank now has its own private cloud with new service-level agreements (SLAs) and recovery options.
The second success story involves Wetcom growing its VMware business with an existing customer. An IT service provider wanted to accelerate its business projects by increasing the agility of its IT infrastructure. Wetcom optimized their infrastructure and guided their client through the adoption of VMware Cloud on AWS, allowing the IT service provider to reduce costs, increase agility, and—most important of all—innovate much more quickly. Soon after, the IT service provider’s CIO was recognized as one of the highest performing CIOs in the entire country.
Continuity and resiliency matter, now more than ever, and providing that assurance for its customers has been Wetcom’s mission from day one. Today Wetcom goes further and enables their customers not just to survive but to flourish.
