Where would we be without our partners? Every year, VMware recognizes select partners for extraordinary achievements. The 2020 program solidified this statement in every sense. From social impact to digital and cloud transformation, these awards are bestowed upon partners across the globe. Through an intensive review and evaluation process, IDC and VMware weighed specific criteria for each category. Partners are honored for delivering growth for their customers’ businesses, driving ROI, innovating and demonstrating expertise in a technology area, or making a positive impact on the world through VMware technologies.
These awards demonstrate the capability and dedication our partners have to VMware and vice versa. Highlights of the 2020 VMware Global Partner Award Winners:
Partner Value Award
Recognized for the growth of their customers’ business using VMware solutions and providing a high return on investment, this year’s winner was our global partner, Lenovo Enterprise Technology Group based in China. Using VMware vSphere as the foundation, Lenovo built the entire private cloud platform for a large energy production company. Additionally, by using VMware Horizon, Lenovo provided the virtual desktop infrastructure solution to a large energy distributor.
Partner Social Impact Award
For positively impacting the world with VMware technologies, the winner of this year’s award was Rackspace Technology, INC., a VMware Cloud provider who delivers managed services, based in the US. Rackspace Technology manages VMware based private cloud and infrastructure for the non-profit, Feeding America, who provides over four billion meals to 1 in 8 Americans in need of healthy foods annually. It didn’t stop there either, as Rackspace Technology also implemented a dependable, behind-the-scenes infrastructure to secure and store the National Kidney Registry’s invaluable kidney recipient/donor database that facilitates up to 40 transplants per month.
Partner Expertise Award: Cloud Platform Transformation
By demonstrating achievement based on using their capabilities and VMware solutions to advance a customer’s cloud journey to hybrid, public, or multi-cloud, we recognized Deloitte Consulting Product Services, LLC, a System Integrator and System Outsourcer (SISO) based in the US. Deloitte is helping their customer, a large regional bank, migrate from an on-premise data center and colocation facility in less than a year using VMware Cloud on AWS, VMware Site Recovery Manager, vRealize Operations Manager, HCX and NSX-T.
Partner Expertise Award: Digital Transformation
Through the delivery of superior value throughout their customers’ journey and the provision of complete solutions that generate desired customer outcomes, the winner of this award was Wetcom S.A, a solution provider and corporate reseller based in Argentina. Wetcom not only did this for one of their customers but two. Banco Comafi, an Argentinian Bank, wanted to improve their infrastructure availability. Wetcom stepped up, created a new high availability infrastructure, and modernized all of Banco Comafi’s IT Services using VMware technologies. Wetcom also helped Red Link, who wanted to accelerate business projects. By turning ‘shelfware’ into ‘valueware’, Wetcom optimized the infrastructure to bring more and faster services for Servers and Virtual Desktops Applications.
Partner Expertise Award: Services Excellence
Using their skills and services capabilities including consulting, managed and subscription services, to help customers maximize the value received from their VMware investments, the winner of this award was ITQ Consultancy B.V., a solution provider/corporate reseller based in the Netherlands. ITQ Consultancy B.V. reduced IT management costs and improved speeds to login with software-defined data centers for both of their customers –– CM.com and Gemeente Haarlem.
Partner Trailblazer Award
As an innovator and pioneer with the use of VMware solutions with the next-gen tech superpowers, we recognized TeraSky, a solution provider and corporate reseller with headquarters in Israel, for this award. TeraSky Group pioneered Terraform with Dell VxRail solution powered by VMware vSAN to process AI requests for their customer, UVeye. In addition, TeraSky Group experts integrated the platform with the AI Nvidia GPU on-premises.
Global Partner Technology Innovation Award
For excellence and innovation applying VMware technologies to breakthrough solutions that deliver high levels of customer satisfaction, we recognized Microsoft, based in the US. To improve the unified shopping experience between their brick-and-mortar and online experiences for customers, Lucky Brand looked to Microsoft to move to the cloud. Through implementing Azure VMware Solutions, Lucky Brand minimized costs and improved their customers’ experiences.
Additionally, Microsoft deployed VMware Horizon Cloud on Microsoft Azure™ for the University of Technology at Sydney within the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology. This deployment provided over 10,000 students with the flexibility to more securely access applications and workloads online, anytime, from any location – without experiencing latencies. VMware Horizon Cloud on Microsoft Azure enabled UTS to deliver a seamless and highly secure, cloud-based digital learning environment while reducing operations costs by over 40% by moving to the cloud.
