With the level of interest in the marketplace for hybrid cloud solutions growing, VMware is continuously making enhancements to VMware Cloud on AWS partner programs and training to make it easier for our partners to build their hybrid cloud practice. VMware’s commitment to VMware Cloud on AWS has never been stronger. Here are some recent updates for our partners.
VMware Cloud Briefing
On June 4th, VMware held a Cloud Briefing with Pat Gelsinger and many other VMware cloud executives, providing an insider’s look into the future of hybrid cloud, multi-cloud, and cloud native-apps. Following the main event, Worldwide Channel Chief Jenni Flinders hosted an exclusive partner segment, touching on the opportunities and benefits of VMware’s hybrid cloud solutions and how to monetize VMware cloud. It also included a panel of partner and partner experts who discussed their own experiences and successes in growing their cloud business with VMware. Watch the replay.
We’ve recently made VMware Cloud on AWS available in additional AWS regions, specifically AWS Asia Pacific (in both Mumbai and Seoul) and AWS South America (Sao Paulo). This expansion adds to the broad availability of VMware Cloud on AWS in other AWS locations including AWS US East (N. Virginia and Ohio), AWS US West (N. California and Oregon), AWS Canada (Central), AWS Europe (Frankfurt, London, and Paris), AWS Asia Pacific (Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo) and AWS GovCloud (US West) regions.
VMware Cloud on AWS Enhancements
VMware regularly makes improvement to VMware Cloud on AWS, continually rolling out updates and enhancements. Read this post for details on the following new features.

Partner Program Updates: Improved Partner of Record Process
VMware Cloud on AWS partners are encouraged to have deeper discussions with customers about use cases and consumption plans during pre-sales stage. In order to help with this activity, partners can now submit a consumption plan and partner of record request during the pre-sales process that became effective on May 13, 20019. The pre-sales process has been created in addition to the existing post-sales process. The post-sales partner of record process continues to be in effect, wherein partner needs to complete the partner of record registration form using customer’s organization ID.
Please note, partners that achieve the VMware on AWS Solution Competency, provide a consumption plan, and are the customer’s partner of record, are eligible for consumption incentives. We’ve updated several assets (How-to and Reference Guides, Consumption Plan Tutorial video, Program Overview, and FAQ document) on the VMware Cloud on AWS Incentives page on Partner Central to help walk our partners through this process.
