Dell Technologies World kicked off on Monday, April 29 with the Global Partner Summit, where VMware CEO Pat Gelsinger joined Dell Technologies CEO Michael Dell on stage to share the following key announcements related to VMware and Dell’s joint business.

 

VMware Cloud on Dell EMC: A Comprehensive Vision for Cloud Across the Dell Technologies Family
VMware and Dell introduced the new Dell Technologies Cloud Platform, anchored on VMware Cloud on Dell EMC.  This solution, built on VMware Cloud Foundation and run on Dell EMC’s VxRail hyperconverged appliance, will provide simple, more secure and scalable infrastructure delivered as-a-service to customer’s on-premises data center and edge locations.

 

Dell Technologies Unified Workspace: Integrating Solutions Across Dell Devices & Services, VMware Workspace ONE, and Secureworks
This new offering will give IT leaders greater visibility, insights and automation so they can streamline processes and deliver an exceptional end-user experience anytime, anywhere and on any device. Expanded Partnership with Dell Technologies and Microsoft to Help Customers Accelerate Their Digital Transformation

Dell EMC SD-WAN Edge powered by VMware: An Integrated Platform that Bundles VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud with Dell EMC Hardware
This new integrated platform will help improve the customer purchase experience by bundling VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud software as a subscription with Dell EMC hardware and a single support number. This Edge software is identical to the VeloCloud Edge software but will be orderable from Dell using Dell’s SKUs.  Now, for the first time, partners have the choice to resell VeloCloud technology from either VMware or Dell based off customer preferences, channel margins, or other vendor preferences factors.  View Dell’s press release for the full story.

 

Dell Partner Program Updates
Dell’s vision of a Dell Technologies Advantage Framework will increase profitability and enable partners to realize benefits across the family of Dell Technologies companies.  This framework is tightly aligned with VMware’s own re-imagined partner program, VMware Partner Connect.  VMware’s partner program will remain intact as Dell progresses the Dell Technologies Advantage framework and VMware will continue to drive the evolution of Partner Connect, launching in FY2021.  Read more on how the Dell Technologies Advantage Framework will impact VMware partners.
