Last November we announced at VMworld in Barcelona that a new VMware PKS competency was coming in Q1 FY20. Today, we are proud to confirm that the VMware PKS Solution Competency is now available to partners.
VMware Solution Competencies make it easier to distinguish VMware partners that can deliver comprehensive technology solutions to customers. They also help partners develop selling skills, architecture proficiency, and deployment expertise to help drive their success.
This new solution competency is designed to help VMware partners extend their infrastructure modernization practices with new Kubernetes-based solutions and revenue streams.
VMware PKS (co-developed by VMware and Pivotal) is a turnkey solution for enterprises and service providers to provision, operate and manage production-grade Kubernetes clusters. With PKS, organizations can realize a fully supported production-grade Kubernetes-based container platform, with deep integration with NSX-T for networking and security, that is globally supported on vSphere as well as all leading public clouds.
The new competency provides VMware PKS training along with sales, services and marketing benefits so that partners can deliver higher value-added services to help enterprises run modern applications with flexibility and agility. Partners who obtain the VMware PKS Solution Competency will be able to quote and transact VMware PKS starting in early March.
The VMware PKS Solution Competency enables partners to:
- Identify and unlock container opportunities,
- Extend service delivery and cross-selling opportunities with a broader portfolio of VMware offerings
- Differentiate from the competition by solidifying their trusted advisor status in front of customers.
