VMware continues to expand its cloud portfolio offering flexibility to build applications for any app on any cloud on any device with consistent infrastructure and consistent operations.
VMware announced that VMware Cloud on AWS in now available in AWS Asia Pacific (Sydney region), and new capabilities that help organizations around the globe to rapidly migrate applications and data centers to a secure cloud service that meets enterprise application needs. Get started by accessing the new VMware Cloud Sales Institute – online sales training that focuses on the cloud fundamentals, and what you need to know to prospect, qualify, and sell VMware Cloud on AWS and other VMware Cloud services.
AWS and VMware also announced Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) on VMware. Amazon RDS on VMware is a service that will make it easy for customers to set up, operate, and scale databases in VMware-based software-defined data centers and hybrid environments and to migrate them to AWS or VMware Cloud on AWS.
Additional partner program updates included:
- New and updated VMware VMware Solution Enablement Toolkits for developing cloud professional services,
- Enhanced VMware Cloud on AWS Solution Provider program consumption incentive and,
- Partner Acceleration Program that helps partners advance various aspect of their cloud business, from strategy to POCs.
New and expanded VMware Cloud Services were also announced that help organizations reduce the cost and complexity of operating in multi-cloud/hybrid world. VMware Cloud Assembly, VMware Service Broker, and VMware Code Stream are new cloud automation services. VMware Secure State, a new service in BETA, delivers cloud configuration security and compliance monitoring for AWS and Azure. And, enhancements to Wavefront by VMware capabilities, the unified visibility into infrastructure and application logs through Log Intelligence, and the ability to estimate cost and capacity with VMware Cost Insight.
VMware has signed a definitive agreement to acquire CloudHealth Technologies. With over 3,000 global customers, CloudHealth Technologies delivers a cloud operations platform across AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud. The platform enables customers to help analyze and manage cloud cost, usage, security, and performance centrally for native public clouds.
The VMware Cloud Provider Platform includes new and expanded offerings – VMware Cloud Provider Hub, VMware Cloud Provider Pod, vCloud Director 9.5 and VMware vCloud Availability for Cloud-to-Cloud DR – that empower partners to modernize VMware-based clouds and create new managed services to support customers adopting a multi-cloud strategy.
