With the latest update, the GDPR-ready VMware Cloud on AWS service delivers more…of just about everything. More locations, more features, more consumption options, and more certifications are now part of our industry-defining hybrid cloud service.
VMware Cloud on AWS continues its momentum with its fourth major quarterly update. Our engineering teams continue to drive to deliver an industry-defining hybrid cloud service that gives your customers the software-defined data center (SDDC) experience from the leader in private cloud, VMware, running on the leading public cloud provider, AWS. Bringing together the best of VMware and AWS, VMware Cloud on AWS provides customers an operationally consistent and familiar way to run, manage and secure applications in a hybrid cloud with access to a broad range of innovative and comprehensive AWS services as well as robust disaster protection.
Partners can create new revenue streams today by helping their customers deploy hybrid cloud using VMWare Cloud on AWS service and driving post sales consumption of the service. As announced in March, we’ve expanded the VMware Partner Network program to enable our partners to take advantage of the VMware and AWS partnership.
This expansion of the VMware Partner Network enables solution providers, managed service providers (MSPs) and system integrators to grow their hybrid cloud business with a unique offering. We’ve seen significant partner interest to build a hybrid cloud practice as demonstrated by the number of VMware MSPs, solution providers, and global system integrators who have achieved VMware Cloud on AWS Solution Competency since the March timeframe.
With the latest release of VMware Cloud on AWS, we are announcing:
Availability in the AWS EU (Frankfurt) Region
This brings our service to a second major European geography and a member of the European Union, increasing total availability to four AWS regions in 9 months. Partner can now take advantage of opportunities with customers interested in migrating to VMware Cloud on AWS in the AWS Europe (Frankfurt) region.
Broadening of 3rd Party Technology Partner Solutions
VMware has been working with our VMware Technology Alliance Partners to test and validate solutions in cloud migration, data protection, DevOps, security, networking, key management system and many more categories. A New Single Host SDDC Option
Partners now have a lower cost way to develop and test their own hybrid cloud solutions and to run customer POCs based on VMware Cloud on AWS. The new single host SDDC solution is offered at less than ¼ the price of a 4 node cluster, and partners are eligible for an additional 30% discount off the list price. This single node SDDC offering has some limitations that make it ideal for testing and development purposes only, not for production workloads. See the product FAQ for more details on its full functionality.
VMware Horizon 7 for VMware Cloud on AWS Now Available
Now, your customers can easily extend desktop services to address on-demand capacity, protection of desktop workloads and AWS cloud co-location for latency-sensitive applications without buying additional data center resources. Listen to this for additional information for partners.
Enhancements to VMware Site Recovery for Accelerated Time to Protection
