With No Limits – New Possibilities, anything is imaginable. This proved truer than ever as Partner Day kicked off with a 6.0 magnitude earthquake early yesterday morning. We hope everyone visiting is San Francisco is safe and enjoying VMworld 2014.
Yesterday morning’s 5k Partner Fun Run was a win-win for all as it helped support support BUILD and Inveneo. Following the run, it was time for registration and the Partner and Business Sessions at Moscone West, which were overflowing with eager participants. During the breaks partners took advantage of the Partner Lounge, where they were able to meet with customers, sign-up for a video, visit a partner POD, enjoy some coffee and recharge their batteries.
There was a lot of anticipation around the General Session Keynote given by Dave O’Callaghan, Dan Smoot, Pat Gelsinger and Carl Eschenbach, since the launch of VMware vCloud Air Network late last week. VMware vCloud Air Network represents an evolution and expansion of the company’s VMware Service Provider Program (VSPP) and is a way to provide greater choice and flexibility to businesses looking to capitalize on the advantages of hybrid cloud.
Last week, we also announced the rebranding of VMware vCloud® Hybrid Service™ to VMware vCloud Air™. The name change underscores VMware’s commitment to deliver value added as a service solutions (e.g. Infrastructure as a Service, Desktop as a Service, Disaster Recovery as a Service, etc.) to customers on its hybrid cloud platform. Future as a service offerings from VMware will carry the “Air” brand suffix to align with this strategy.
Be sure to stop by the lounge later today for a Kilby’s bar t-shirt and don’t forget to follow us around the web using #VMware or by visiting @VMware_Partners on Twitter.
