Because of this, VMware launched Value Velocity with 30+ global distributors targeting over 800  partners. The program works to first match the right partners with the right solutions and provides a step-by-step process for partners to follow to increase their VMware business.

Distributors then offer targeted partners a package of enablement, demand generation and sales acceleration activities and tools to drive transactions across the VMware portfolio within a specific timeframe.

As many of you are already aware, our best-in-class program is closely aligned with our corporate strategy, positioning and core initiatives, such as the Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC), Hybrid Cloud (vCHS) and Workforce Mobility (EUC). Because of this, we want to increase your visibility into our solutions, strategy and product direction, and provide the clarity needed to guide you in your strategic planning efforts. Having this visibility will allow you to better understand the full depth and breadth of the VMware offering, while enabling you to grow your business by having more strategic and detailed conversations with your customers. We want you to be able to set yourself apart from the competition by presenting your customers with one solution.

Important Program Updates Take Effect in May 2014

There is no better time than now to be a VMware partner. VMware is now offering a simplified program and rewards structure focused on greater consistency and predictability for our Solution Provider, Service Provider and Distribution partners. These program changes will help you drive more profitability since your rewards grow as your investment in VMware grows and will take effect this month, May 2014.  Here is what you need to know broken down by partner type:

Solution Providers:

Changes to the Solution Provider Program are focused on creating more reward and incentive opportunities as you invest more in VMware, allowing you to grow your business more quickly.

  • Simplifying the Opportunity Registration program (Advantage+) as well as offer product accelerators
  • Eliminate Infrastructure Virtualization as a prerequisite to achieving a Solution Competencies reducing your investment cost
  • Solution Competencies now require 2 sales (VSP-xx) and 2 technical sales (VTSP-xx) accreditations for each Solution Competency. (For example:2 VSP- SV (Server Virtualization), 2 VTSP-BC (Business Continuity), etc.)
  • Eliminate Revenue requirements for Professional and Enterprise partners making it easier to achieve status.

Service Providers:

Changes to the Service Provider Program offer greater opportunities and co-investment for you. Enablement materials in a new Solution Competency are more relevant to your services-based business and will help grow your business with VMware.

  • Offer partners additional benefits to help grow more with VMware solutions.
  • Access to Development Funds* for Enterprise and Premier partners to help them grow their business.

Distribution:

Changes to distribution incentives are focused on simplifying the reward structure to provide greater profitability and predictability. These changes, combined with more long term planning will ensure that you can differentiate your value-added services while helping us drive our joint transactional business as well as expand into adjacent solutions.

  • Longer planning horizon and strategic collaboration
  • Simplify the Distribution Rewards rebate structure to help drive predictability
  • Development Fund enhancements allow distributors to invest more to drive VMware training, sales behavior and demand generation
