Solution Announcements from HP Americas Partner Conference
This week, I’m hanging out in Las Vegas at HP’s annual Americas Partner Conference and am looking forward to connecting with partners from across the nation as we discuss new ways to help our customers meet their business needs. I’m also excited to have the opportunity to showcase some of the projects that VMware and HP have been working on together to help benefit this amazing community. As part of VMware’s long-standing partnership with HP, we’ve worked closely together to ensure that our customers have a seamless technology experience and comprehensive solutions right at their fingertips.
Here are some of the things we’ll be announcing at the show:
- VMware Partner Network Revenue Credit for OEM Sales: A new feature has been added to the VMware Partner Network program that levels the playing field. Beginning April 1, partners will be able to acquire VMware product licenses directly from HP and earn revenue credit toward their VMware Partner Network level, giving partners even more benefits as they progress to higher levels within the program. During the second quarter of 2011, only joint partners selling VMware software as part of an HP product SKU will have this dual credit opportunity.
- IBM WebSphere Solution Block: Enterprise Java application servers account for 3 million CPUs, and migrating these workloads to VMware vSphere® is the first step for customers on their journey to the cloud. The pre-tested, pre-configured solution block featuring IBM WebSphere, VMware vSphere and HP Converged Infrastructure will be available May 1 to all HP partners.
- The HP Cloud Map for VMware vCloud® Director: First announced at VMworld 2010, today marks the general availability of the HP Cloud Map for VMware vCloud Director. Through the integration of HP BladeSystem Matrix and vCloud Director, customers can easily grow and shrink virtualized resource pools, quickly adjusting them to changing business needs.
- VMware Grid Campaigns: VMware is introducing two new campaigns for HP partners – “If Only,” focused on meeting the virtualization and cloud infrastructure needs of SMB and mid-market organizations and “a Virtual Desktop campaign,” aimed at supporting partners as they speak with customers about the latest enterprise virtual desktop solutions. The Virtual Desktop campaign is focused at customers in the education, financial services and healthcare vertical markets.
We’re also happy to share that we’ve begun to see customer adoption of VMware vCloud Director on HP BladeSystem Matrix operating environments. Combining strengths from both companies, customers are finding tremendous value as HP and VMware manage the IT cycle from production to consumption.
