I can tell that your excitement levels have just skyrocketed as you sit at your desk reading this blog post and seeing the phrase “vSphere 5” included in it.
With vSphere 5, VMware is releasing a new software storage appliance called the vSphere Storage Appliance (VSA). This appliance provides an alternative storage solution for users who may not have the resources or the budget to obtain a physical SAN or NAS type storage solution.
This video demonstrates how you can create a VSA cluster within a vSphere 5 environment using the vSphere Storage Appliance.
