The holiday season officially gets underway on the day after Thanksgiving, but that doesn’t mean retailers haven’t been prepping for months. Everyone’s been purchasing products, inventorying items, and hiring helpers in preparation for what experts predict will be a big year-over-year increase in shopper spending.
And with increases in spending—whether those increases come in the form of more online or in-person spend—comes the need to hire more seasonal employees. In fact, U.S. companies expect to hire a record-breaking 704,000 seasonal workers this winter holiday season. Yet, hiring the best and brightest holiday workers is a major challenge.
