Retailers and CPG companies partner with VMware to stay competitive as they implement digital transformation across stores and data centers. A recent IHL Group survey shows that retailers plan to spend 34 percent of their software budgets on the cloud in 2017. The velocity of change in retail is making recognized brands rethink their IT strategies and consider cloud to speed infrastructure and application delivery with the goal of driving customer purchases and enhancing in-store experiences.
From initial engagement to the point of sale, retailers can deploy cloud to deliver seamless, personalized experiences to shoppers on mobile devices and they can enable faster access to real-time data to improve the consistency of supply chain, inventory management, and merchandising across retail locations. All having a direct effect on customer experience, service, and loyalty.
Sanjay Poonen, COO VMware, recently spoke to Jim Crammer on Mad Money describing VMware’s central aim to help high-profile customers like Coca-Cola and Nike manage hybrid cloud environments consisting of on-premise, private and public clouds.
