  1. Go to Content Catalog and browse for sessions of interest
  2. When you spot a session you’d like to pre-register for, click +
  3. If you’re not already logged in, you’ll be prompted for your VMworld account credentials

You can see all your reserved sessions by clicking the calendar icon in Content Catalog. You can also click the star to save a session as a favorite and come back later.

It was great to meet everyone that came by our Education and Certification Lounge in the VM Village! The lounge hosted several theatre sessions each day, which focused on troubleshooting, automation and certification information. Catch the replays of our live stream videos on our VMware Education Service’s Facebook and Twitter pages. We also gave away awesome prizes for VMware Certified attendees!  

We’ll be in the VM Village again at VMworld 2016 Europe, so make sure you stop by and see what we’ve got going on.

The two VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX) events are always a big hit at VMworld. The day started off with a VCDX Workshop designed to help candidates prepare for the VCDX application and defense process. There will be another Workshop held at VMworld 2016 Europe, but space is limited so register soon if you’re interested.

 

In the afternoon, the focus changed to a Town Hall for current VCDXs to share opinions on the future of the program, ask VCDX Alpha Pat Gelsinger questions on VMware’s direction, and get insights on coming technology from a panel from the Office of the CTO.

New VCA6-NV Exam Available

VCATwo weeks ago I got to tell you about three new exams we released, and today I get to tell you about another one!

Based on VMware NSX v6.2, the VMware Certified Associate 6 – Network Virtualization (VCA6-NV) exam (#1V0-642) will validate your ability to identify the technical requirements for managing a VMware NSX 6.2 environment and aligning them with the products and solutions that meet those requirements. This online exam is now available for registration at PearsonVue.

With this release, we will be retiring the older VCA6-NV exam (#1V0-604) on October 15, 2016.

VCAP5 Exam Retirements

I’ve previously written about our VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) exams based on vSphere 5. Based on your feedback we modified our original retirement plan for these exams, to keep them live until after the release of the GA version of the VCAP6 exams.

I’m happy to say that those exams have been released, so we are going to move forward with retiring these older exams:

  • VMware Certified Advanced Professional 5 — Data Center Administration (VCAP5-DCA)
    Exam #VDCA550
  • VMware Certified Advanced Professional 5 — Data Center Design (VCAP5-DCD)
    Exam #VDCD550
  • VMware Certified Implementation Expert — Network Virtualization (VCIX-NV)
    Exam #VCXN610

We will stop taking new registrations for these exams after October 31, 2016. If you are making a new exam appointment, you must schedule it before November 30, 2016.
