Hi Everyone,

I am really excited to announce that registration for the the new VCAP6 Deployment Labs is available now through Pearson Vue, with a first appointment date of June 15, 2016.

The following Lab Exams are available now for registration:

Pre-Registration Notice – Limited-time Availability

This is a very special beta – the Pearson Vue platform and channel are both new – so we will be rolling the beta out in stages. The betas will be available for very limited time (only two weeks), limited to certain geographies (initially North America) and limited to certain testing centers (with proven bandwidth). Pearson Vue and VMware will be monitoring performance carefully and will expand or contract the beta as results come in.

Benefits of taking a VCAP6 Beta Exam?

  • Opportunity to be the first to preview and experience the new Pearson Vue testing engine.
  • Discount exam price – Beta exams are only $100 USD.
  • Become one of the first to experience the new lab exams and become VCAP6 *certified!
  • Identify your strengths and weaknesses in the exam content at a significant discount.
  • Recertify by *upgrading to VCAP6.

We need experienced and qualified people to participate early and provide feedback. Some of you have been waiting a long time for the release of the VCAP6 Lab exams – here is your chance!

One last note – this post is a pre-registration notice and our marketing team won’t be sending out notices or updating the webpages until early next week. If you see something on the certification web page that has not been updated don’t be alarmed, just check back again early next week.

As always thank you and good luck on your test!

Paul Sorensen

*You all must meet pre-requisites and pass the beta exam in order to become certified

    1. Hi Fouad,

After the two-week pilot/beta in the US we will be evaluating and working to extend to Europe. Stay tuned and watch our blog. I will post our progress and expansion plans in a new post.

      Thanks!
      Paul

    1. Hi Mariusz,

The same as I mentioned above: After the two-week pilot/beta in North America we will be evaluating and working to extend to Europe. Stay tuned and watch our blog. I will post our progress and expansion plans in a new post. Once we are able expand it please note that the window to take the exam will be short – probably about two weeks.

      Thanks!
      Paul

      1. In about two weeks many EU countries are in vacation season, which lasts 4 weeks or more. So I wonder how many candidates you will get in EU during your beta exam window…

    1. Hi Zlatko,

Post-beta work on the Design exams is continuing to proceed and they are working through some small issues (the Design exams are pretty complex as you probably know). I anticipate that we will have some dates to announce publicly fairly soon. From what I am seeing I don’t think that the live exams are not too far out. Keep watching the blog. The minute that I have the information I will post it here.

      Thanks,
      Paul

    1. Hi Krishna,

I am not sure where you are located, but assuming that the functionality testing goes well in North America we are planning to expand to other sites around the world in the following weeks. Keep and eye on this blog for expansion announcements.

      Thanks,
      Paul

  1. Paul, is there any details on the lab environment? Is it build with Windows Based VCSA/PSC or using the Appliances? Trying to see if i can setup a lab similar to the setup

  2. Paul, I have valid VCAP5-DCA but don’t have VCP6-DCV, Am I eligible to take this VMware Certified Advanced Professional 6 – Data Center Virtualization Deployment Beta Exam (3V0-623) ?

    1. Hi Naresh,

Based upon what you describe above, yes you are eligible to use the 3V0-623 to upgrade your VCAP5 Admin to the new VCAP6 Deploy version from v5 to v6.

      Thanks and good luck!

    1. Hi Karim,

About a month after the new VCAP exams are released in live production. I know that is a little ambiguous, but to be safe, I would not plan much beyond the end of August/early September. If the betas go well, then I think that we will see a retirement around that time.

      Thanks,
      Paul

    1. Hi,

Assuming that the functionality testing goes well in North America we are planning to expand to other sites around the world in the following weeks. I am not specifically certain about whether there will be a beta site in Morocco at this point. Keep and eye on this blog for expansion announcements.

      Thanks,
      Paul

  3. Do I need to take the beta in these two weeks or will it be extended/reintroduced after tweaking for a second beta period? We are in the middle of a large scale project at work, so this is not the best week for me. Thanks.

    1. Hi Sean,

It really depends on how the beta goes. If things go well (functionality-wise) we will expand it to more sites. At this point the results are still coming in, so please keep and eye on this blog for expansion announcements.

      Thanks,
      Paul

      1. Thanks for the prompt feedback. I’m lucky to in Washington DC where we have lots of test sites to choose from.

  4. VCAP6 -DCV Design (beta) exams are over, very long time ago in around Apr/may 2016.. the results are expected sooner as per VMware.

we are conducting our post-beta activities on the exam now. Once those are complete, within Q3, we will post the live exam availability date as well as re-score all beta attempts and send results out.
