Two New VMware Courses Released

Two new courses are now available:

VMware Application Virtualization with VMware ThinApp [V5.0] focuses on virtualizing Windows applications with VMware® ThinApp®, modifying the Package.ini parameters to handle special circumstances, and choosing the best deployment and updating processes for your environment. It prepares you for the the VMware Certified Professional 5 – Desktop (VCP5-DT) certification.
Prerequisites include a basic understanding of virtualization concepts, and completion of VMware Horizon View: Install, Configure, Manage or the FREE VMware ThinApp Fundamentals. Register today.

VMware vCloud Director: Organization Administration [V5.5] focuses on the organization administrator’s role in VMware® vCloud Director® in managing cloud resources, providing hands-on training for operators charged with administering their corporate resources in a public cloud or a private cloud. VMware Certified Instructor of the quarter announced

Welcome to the “Oscars” of the VMware Certified Instructor of the quarter award!  This quarter’s award recognises outstanding VMware Certified Instructors (VCIs) from Europe. Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The award supports, promotes and develops VCIs by inspiring them to continually raise the standards of VMware training.

to December 2013.  Over the past quarter Bruce’s evaluation scores are consistently excellent,with more than half scoring the maximum five out of five.  Bruce is always ready to deliver the latest training courses.  His focus enables him to successfully present the first public courses for VMware Horizon View 5.2, VMware vCloud Automation Center 5.2 and VMware vSphere Install, Configure, and Manage v5.5 for the EMEA region.  In addition, his abilities to take on board new technologies led to him to reviewseveral new courses and deliver train-the-trainer sessions assisting other instructors.

Also, a big congratulations to Roy Freeman and Andy Fox who both made outstanding contributions throughout the quarter. Thank you also to the other candidates who were nominated, the decision by Undeleeb Din and Andy Cary this quarter always very difficult.




New Exam for VCP-Cloud Certification Available

VCP-CloudThere is a new exam available to qualify candidates for the VCP-Cloud Certification.

This new exam (exam code VCPC550) is based on vCloud Automation Center 5.2 and vCloud Director 5.5, where the existing exam (exam code VCPC510) is based on vCloud Director 5.1. Passing either of these exams will earn VCP-Cloud certification if you have also taken an approved required course.

Note: There is still a third method to earn VCP-Cloud certification; if you already have your VCP5-DCV or VCP5-DT certification you can take the VMware Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) exam (exam code VCPVCD510). You are not required to take a course if you follow this path.

Last week’s VCDX and vExpert party at VMware Partner Exchange 2014 included a special surprise for VMware CEO Pat Gelsinger. Amid drinks and hors d’oeuvres, John Arrasjid (VCDX #1) presented him with a custom briefcase to commemorate his newly appointed status as “VCDX Alpha.”
