On the heels of KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe, we’re following up on the cloud-native momentum and heading to the City by the Bay for Red Hat Summit, May 8-10, 2018.

We have two theater sessions devoted to the synergies between Kubernetes, cloud-native solutions and cloud management at the summit.

Ecosystem Theater

Kubernetes and VMware Cloud Native Solutions

Date/Time: Tuesday, May 8th, 4:30pm – 4:50pm

Speaker: Simone Morellato, VMware

Today’s developer needs to rapidly build and deploy code in a consistent, predictable, and declarative manner. This session will illustrate how development teams can leverage open source foundations such as Kubernetes, Harbor, and PKS to achieve these goals with their image management. This demonstration will include a demo of a Harbor that can be used to ensure CVE’s detected in your image build process can be dealt with before they actually run in your environment.

Date/Time: Wednesday, May 9, 5:20pm – 5:40pm

Speaker: Greg Kullberg, VMware

Cloud Management is typically associated with delivering Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and related services. However, developers and the line of business are increasingly demanding services and infrastructure that can address the needs of modern application development. Delivering consistent, secure and reliable developer-centric services to the LoB will help IT bridge the gap between traditional IaaS and the Developer Cloud while eliminating the threat of shadow IT.

Greg will discuss how VMware’s Cloud Management Platform can be used to deliver developer-centric services to enable collaboration, self-management and guaranteed availability to the line of business.

Beyond the talks, VMware will be showcasing VMware Pivotal Container Service (PKS), Kubernetes networking with VMware NSX-T, and application-centric hybrid cloud management with VMware. Be sure to check out the demos at VMware’s booth.
