There have been many changes around the world over the last few years, and VMware has been working to ensure our customers are equipped to excel in this dynamic marketplace. With complexity and change comes opportunity; some of the things that enabled VMware’s historical wins have remained consistent and will continue to fuel VMware’s future success in seizing these opportunities – particularly VMware’s culture and EPIC2 values.
VMware’s Community value is about how we work together internally as One VMware and how we engage as active citizens in our broader communities. One way this comes to life is through Citizen Philanthropy – VMware’s strategic focus is on being a platform for our people by directing our philanthropic funding to the nonprofits and causes that VMware people support globally.
Continuing what has become an annual tradition of Giving Back Together at the end of the calendar year, all VMware people are eligible to direct a “Gift of Giving” donation to their nonprofits of choice in 2022. VMware people are putting our EPIC2 values into action around the world – by supporting the causes and nonprofits, they are passionate about, directing donations to the organizations they choose, and sharing why a nonprofit or cause is meaningful to them with their colleagues. The ripple effects of this initiative are poised to reach more than 10,000 nonprofits globally, in addition to our year-round Citizen Philanthropy efforts as a community.
This is a tradition VMware people have come to look forward to. Ashley Speagle, Senior Communications Specialist in Atlanta said, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year — when I get to share my VMware Gift of Giving with The Elephant Sanctuary!” Some colleagues also chose to split the donation between multiple nonprofits, like Becky Pereira, Physical Security Emergency Response Team Program Manager in Palo Alto, who told us this is “one of the many reasons I love working at VMware!” Overall, this is an initiative for which VMware people continue to express gratitude. Nate Hudson, Staff Solutions Engineer & CTO Ambassador in Wisconsin, called it “one of the greatest parts of the VMware culture,” and Suzanne Hensley, Director of Major Transformation Partner Sales in Illinois, said she was “very thankful to work for a company that walks the walk.”
For the third year in a row, VMware is also observing an “EPIC2 Shutdown” the last week of December as a time for our global workforce to rest and rejuvenate. This is one of the many ways VMware continues to prioritize the wellbeing of VMware people.
We wish you a happy holiday season and refreshed start to 2023, and we invite you to share the spirit of the Gift of Giving by recognizing the people in your life for whose support you are grateful.
