On Wednesday, June 6, 2012 eighteen interns from schools all across the United States joined together at the VMware Cambridge, Massachusetts office to kick off their summer internship with us here at VMware.
To commence the day, Julia Austin, VP of Innovation Programs gave the group an overview of VMware throughout the years as well as the awe-inspiring projects we presently work on today. After Julia spoke the Cambridge interns set out to enjoy the pre-summer day with a mobile scavenger hunt, and then satisfied their taste buds with some mouthwatering BBQ.
For the scavenger hunt, the interns were divided up into four teams with each team representing one of the following clouds, Nimbus, Stratus, Cumulus, and Cirrus (We had to have some fun with our background in Cloud Technology). During the mobile scavenger hunt, the interns roamed the Beacon Hill neighborhood of Boston in search of the answers to the scavenger hunt questions that revolved around historical events in Boston, Massachusetts. Photographs were captured to confirm that each team had completed each step of the mobile scavenger hunt.
The team-building event was a great way for our Cambridge interns to get to know each other and help kick start their summer here at VMware. While the 23 Cambridge interns will be working on different projects this season, we are looking forward to what each and every one of them will bring to the team and hope they have a great summer!
