Welcome! ברוך הבא! добре дошъл! Accueil! Willkommen! Fáilte roimh chách! Nal-varravu! ಸ್ವಾಗತ! 欢迎!
There is a great buzz at VMware as we prepare to welcome our summer interns!
Our program continues to grow, with 7 locations in the U.S. that include Palo Alto, San Francisco, Austin, Cambridge, New Brighton, Pleasant Grove and Seattle; and 9 global locations that include India, Bulgaria, Israel, Germany, France, Ireland, Singapore, China and the UK.
We’ve spent months attending career fairs, conducting tech talks, tech treks, and on campus interviews. Thousands of resumes have been reviewed; hundreds of candidates have been interviewed. Hundreds of managers have prepared challenging, exciting and impactful projects for our interns to work on. Mentors are preparing to teach and learn. Executives are booking time to chat with interns; top level managers are preparing to join MBA lunch chats; Principal Engineers are looking forward to having lunch discussions with our PhD interns. Facilities staff are trying to figure out where the heck all of these lucky people are going to sit! Break rooms are getting stocked with free snacks and drinks. Shuttles are being scheduled, travel booked and apartments filled. Events are being planned – ALL KINDS OF EVENTS!!!
From the moment our interns arrive at our beautiful campuses they know they are in for a unique experience. The culture of the community is apparent from the first moment. Welcomed at New Hire Orientation; collaborative meetings, service learning activities, bagel Wednesday’s (Palo Alto), breakfast burrito Fridays (Austin), soccer games (Ireland); or cricket games (India); and of course the beer bashes!
Everything seems so much better once the interns have arrived. There’s a new energy, and excitement; the anticipation and inspiration is contagious. Each week there are more people wearing intern tee shirts popping up and full-timers are heard saying, “I wish I was an intern”. Poster sessions and presentations prove the caliber of students that have been selected to be part of the coveted VMware intern program.
And so, as students prepare for their final exams and pack their bags for VMware, we want them to know – we are ready! We are excited to see what they have to bring to the table! We welcome the future of VMware. Now hurry up and get here!
