vSphere HA 5.0 Best Practices Guide Now Available!

Hot off the presses!

After a lot of work by a multitude of people (Keith F., Elisha Z., and Marc S., to name a few), I'm proud to announce the availability of the vSphere HA 5.0 Best Practices Guide.

This guide is for people who implement, design, or manage environments that leverage the power of vSphere HA for high availability.  Although it is focused on 5.0, there is still a fair amount of general knowledge information contained within the guide that will be of use when using earlier versions.

This will be made available on VMware.com soon, but for now you can get it here:

  1. Since you’ve probably got access to the people who wrote this, can you pass on that there seems to be an error on the bottom of page 11:
“In this configuration, the isolation response should be set to Power Off so another *virtual machine* with access to
the network can attempt to power on the virtual machine.”
Surely this should be another *host* with access can power on the VM?

  2. Thanks for the feedback! And yes, it should likely be ‘host’.
When I update the doc, I’ll make sure I correct that.
