VMware Adds Industry Veterans to End-User Computing Leadership Team

By Sanjay Poonen, executive vice president and general manager, End-User Computing, VMware

Today, we announced that I am adding three industry veterans to our existing roster of talented individuals that comprise the VMware End-User Computing (EUC) leadership team and I’d like to take a few minutes to share my thoughts on this exciting development. These individuals will give our group even deeper end-user computing and industry expertise going into 2014 and position us very well to continue to provide customers with industry leading solutions!

The new additions to the team include:

  • Bob Schultz joins our team in the new role of chief strategy lead for EUC, and will be responsible for driving our business, technology and alliance strategies. Bob brings more than 30 years of seasoned experience and most recently served as group vice president and general manager of Desktop and Applications for Citrix.
  • Sumit Dhawan will lead our Desktop business and organization and be responsible for the overall business including overseeing the strategy, product portfolio and engineering. He most recently was at Citrix for nearly 16 years, and served as group vice president and general manager for Enterprise Mobility at Citrix.
  • Kit Colbert, a long time VMware veteran, is being promoted to chief technology officer (CTO) for EUC and will be responsible for the overall technical success of EUC products, and our ability to identify and embrace technology trends.  He has been with VMware for more than 10 years and has done a phenomenal job in his most recent role as chief architect for Horizon Workspace.

As you might have seen recently, there’s been a lot of industry excitement around desktop-as-a-service as an additional approach to deploying virtual desktops since VMware acquired Desktone in October. You’ll hear more from us on the desktop-as-a-service front this year in addition to other growth areas such as enterprise mobility and enterprise social collaboration where we have compelling solutions to offer.

I’m thrilled to have these industry experts as part of my management team and leaders of our organization. Their contributions will be very visible to the industry in the coming year, so make sure to stay tuned to VMware news.

Hi this is kind of of off topic but I was wondering if
blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML.
I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding skills so I wanted to
get guidance from someone with experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
