vSphere 4.0 is now supporting over a dozen new operating systems!

VMware vSphere 4.0, our latest major release, was just announced GA (generally available) today. With this release, we're happy to bring you support for many often-requested operating systems; both legacy and cutting-edge.

Among these are server and desktop operating systems; covering a range of Windows, Linux, BSD, Unix and others. Up-to-date installation instructions are included for all new OSes. In addition, several other operating system updates have been added. The Guest OS Install Guide also includes support details for additional guest features; many of which are new for ESX 4.0. See the latest update below for a detailed list.

Lastly, take a look at how we stack up against Hyper-V and XenServer with guest support over two times as broad!

Cheers,
Luke
